This display allows you to display your Tempest data with out going into the app. A quick glance gives all the key data and since it is tied to my Tempest I know it is accurate for my location. The only item I have to check is the radar
Hi Lightmap Team,
I wanted to share some thoughts after reviewing your Lightmap device.
I was expecting a different format—something more like an iPad screen that displays weather data clearly, with sections for current conditions, forecast, and historical comparisons. That’s actually my suggestion for a new product: a dedicated screen that includes the full range of your web and mobile weather data, such as:
Current weather
Forecast (next 12–48 hours)
How today compares to historical averages
Accumulated rainfall (this week, this month, past 90 days, past year)
Customizable display—so users can choose how much or how little to show
The current Lightmap is visually interesting, but it's difficult for someone walking past to understand what they're seeing. Aside from temperature and moon phase, the rest requires a complex color key to interpret.
The online instructions were also hard to find—I couldn’t locate the device under the name listed on your website. It seems like you may have both an airport and a home version?
For home use, I need to be able to glance at it and instantly understand what to expect in the near future—without worrying that someone may have accidentally changed a setting from “rain” to “snow,” or “temperature” to “dew point.”
In short: more functionality behind the scenes, and a much simpler, clearer display.
Thanks for considering this feedback.
Best,
Cliff
I find the display to be confusing as there is no key on the board that explains what the color coding is for the forcast. I guess I expected more, and frankly I would much perfer an LCD screen with information. I thought it would be stylish, but just looks like a bunch of random lights. The units is OK, but I wouldn't overly recommend it especially at the price point.
